On our first day of the exchange weeks we got to know each other, worked on our presentations, went swimming and spent a wonderfull evening together.

Monday, 2nd of July
Day one of the adventures in Switzerland began with all of us getting from our homestays on public transportation to the university. It was very interesting to see how well the train system works and how efficient it is.
Class began with an introduction of the instructors, Uwe, Daniela, Sarah and Doug. We then spent time on the schedule for the next 2 weeks and a preview of all the fun and learning we will be having.
Following a run through the schedule, we broke up into groups to learn about our partners from the other universities and had some specific questions to answer that gave us insight into the people we will be working with. This was a very fun exercise and we found out many interesting things about all the students and had a great time doing this. We also had the opportunity to talk about and post what our expectations of the next two weeks were and discuss what we were hoping to get out of this trip. It was especially fun to work on this on the roof area of the building in the beautiful garden area.
We came back together and presented on our new friends/partners and briefly discussed the expectations. Following this time, we took a brief tour of the building and then had lunch.
After lunch we paired up again with our partners to finalize and polish our presentations for the week so we can be ready to share with the class.
Following our class work we are going on a tour of the city to see some of the highlights and take a nice cool dip in the river. We are going to end the day at Uwe’s house for some good food, good drink and even better conversation and fun.
